1. First, select your rocks. As mentioned above, you want to look for rocks that are flat on one side so the eyes will go on smoothly. You can even see if you can find some extra details that may give the rock a mouth.

2. Clean your rocks before painting.

3. Paint with outdoor paint if you want to place outside. Otherwise, regular acrylic paint works well. We did 2 coats of the lighter green to ensure we got complete coverage.

Once you have the green painted, use the white to create different cactus designs!

We did dots, hash marks, lines and stars. Our favorite is the hash marks.

4. Now glue on your googly eyes! Use hot glue or glue dots.

5. Now they are ready to go into their pots!

If you’d like them to stand higher in their pots, use a little bit of paper towel or foam in the bottom of the pots.

1. Fold the tissue paper in half, and then in half again to make a square. Tissue paper is quite thin and fragile, so you will need the extra sturdiness.
2. Lay the folded tissue paper out and place a small pile of candy in the center. I used approximately 14 pieces of fun size chocolate candy for each one, but you may need to experiment a little depending on the type of candy you use.
3. Pull all of the sides up and gather them together to form a little bag. You may need to manipulate the candy to make it as round as possible.
4. Use a pipe cleaner to twist it shut, leaving a few inches remaining for curling later.
5. Next, wrap the floral tape around the pipe cleaner, covering everything except for the part of the pipe cleaner that you are going to curl.
6. Now use a pencil to curl the uncovered piece of pipe cleaner.
7. Add googly eyes if you’d like, and you’re done!

1. Preheat the oven to 350ºF and line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Set aside.
2. Take a skewer and stick it all the way through the center of the hot dog length-wise, leaving about an inch and a half exposed out of the top of each hot dog. Take a piece of breadstick dough and wrap it around the hot dog in a spiral shape until you reach the top, leaving gaps in between each spiral. Repeat with the rest of the hot dogs and lay them on the baking sheet.
3. Bake hot dogs for about 20 minutes, or until the breadsticks are golden brown.
4. While the hot dogs are baking, use a star cookie cutter to cut out stars approximately an inch in diameter. Let the hot dogs cool and then place 1 cheese star at the top of each hot dog in the part of the skewer that’s sticking out of the top.
5. Display the hot dogs using a styrofoam ball so they can stick straight up like firecrackers. Serve with ketchup and mustard.
