    Nutter Butter Mom’s High-Heeled Shoes

    Ingredients:

    • Nutter Butter cookies
    • Tootsie Roll Midgees
    • Chocolate candy melts
    • Icing flowers or other edible decorations 

    Directions To Make Treats:

    Form the Tootsie Roll toes ~

    1. Soften four Tootsie Roll Midgees in the microwave (10 seconds or less).
    2. Roll them together and flatten with a rolling pin.
    3. Using a 1-1/4-inch round cookie cutter, cut a circle from the flattened Tootsie Roll.
    4. Position the cookie cutter in the center of the Tootsie Roll circle and make another cut to form a half-moon shape.
    5. Mold the cut Tootsie Roll over the end of a Nutter Butter cookie to form the shape of a shoe toe.
    6. Remove the shaped Tootsie Roll from the cookie and set aside.
    7. Repeat these steps with as many cookies as you wish to make.

       

    Create Tootsie Roll heels ~

    1. Soften two Tootsie Roll Midgees in the microwave (10 second or less).
    2. Roll them together and form a heel shape with a slight angle to accomodate the cookie when it’s attached.
    3. Repeat these steps until you have a heel to go with each toe.

    Assemble the shoes ~

    1. Melt 1/2 cup chocolate candy melts in a microwave-safe bowl. Using a toothpick or paintbrush, apply a line of candy melt along the front rounded edge of a cookie. Attach a Tootsie Roll toe, and mold it in place with your fingers. Repeat with remaining cookies. Allow them to dry and harden.
    2. Dip the angled parts of the Tootsie Roll heels in the candy melt and attach them to the bottoms of the cookies. Allow them to dry and harden.
    3. Put a small dot of candy melt on the bottoms of the icing flowers and attach them to the Tootsie Roll toes.

    If you are looking for a super easy, super cute Easter craft than look no further than these adorably quick egg carton chickens.  Perfect for holding chocolate – or real – eggs and a lot of fun to make, below are the step-by-step instructions on how you can make these little fellas!

    Materials:

    • Empty egg carton with the lid removed
    • Scissors
    • Hot glue gun
    • Paint (optional)
    • A sheet of red and yellow felt (not too thin)
    • Feathers
    • Craft eyes

    Directions:

    1. Cut out the chicken shapes from the egg carton, as per the image below.  You should be able to get at least four out of a normal carton.
    2. Once you have cut them out, with the hot glue gun, add a set of craft eyes to each of the chickens.  I actually painted one of the chickens above white beforehand.  You can paint the chickens any base color you like or leave them as the natural, egg carton color.
    3. Cut the following shapes out of the felt sheets.  From the yellow, a small yellow square that is folded diagonally along the center.  From the red, a heart shape with a straight base (no point) and a small ‘chicken comb’ shape.  With the hot glue gun, stick these onto the carton chickens as per the below picture.                                          

    4. Glue a selection of feathers onto each side of the chicken.

    5. And just like that – the egg carton little chickens are done.  These are now the perfect little egg holders!

    Ingredients:

    • Nutter Butter cookies
    • Yellow Candy Melts or Chocolate (melted)
    • Reese’s Pieces
    • Black Sugar Pearls
    • Rainbow Chip Sprinkles
    • 5.5″ Wood Coffee Stirrers
    • Wax Paper or Parchment

    Directions To Make Treats:

    1. Work on the wax paper …

      1. Insert the wood stick about half way up the cookie and separate the cookie … add a small amount of melted candy … put cookie back together and let candy harden. (This step is very important … my cookies fell off the stick when I skipped this!)
      2. Dip the cookie in melted candy … tap off excess … lay on wax paper.
      3. Place 2 orange Reece’s Pieces as the feet … 2 yellow ones for the wings.
      4. Place 2 black sugar pearls for eyes … 1 orange Rainbow Chip for the beak.  I did use tweezers (for food only).
      5. Chill for a few minutes.

    4-ingredient gnome cookies are as cute as they are delicious! A perfect dessert for your Christmas cookie exchange, a garden party or whenever you want a treat.

    Ingredients:

    • 1 pkg. Refrigerated Sugar Cookie Dough. I used the break apart kind
    • 24 oz. White Frosting about 2-3 tubes of prepared frosting
    • 24 Strawberries
    • 24 Skittles. I used the pink ones from the Skittles Smoothie mix

    Directions:

    1. Preheat oven to 350°F and spray a mini muffin pan with cooking oil spray. You can also use mini cupcake liners if you have them.
    2. Place one cookie into each muffin cup. You don’t need to flatten or roll them.
    3. Bake cookies for 20 minutes and place pan on a wire rack to cool.
    4. While the cookies are still warm, take a small scoop to gently press the cookies into a cup shape.
    5. Cool completely before removing from the pan.
    6. Wash strawberries and cut out the crowns in a v shape.
    7. Take a fully cooled cookie cup and pipe frosting into the cup. You want to be a little generous here.
    8. Then push a strawberry on top of the icing and add a pink candy nose just under the strawberry.
    9. Take a toothpick to spread some of the icing to create the white beard.
    10. Enjoy!

    This easy kids craft is perfect for Christmastime. Get the little ones involved by letting them choose the colors of paper plates and hats to create their very own festive bearded gnome.

    Materials:

    • Large or Small Paper Plate {one per Christmas gnome craft}
    • Scissors
    • Scrapbook Paper {in Christmas colors if you can!}
    • Brown Cardstock Paper
    • School Glue
    • Hand-Held Office Stapler
    • Snowflake Stickers or Paper Punch

    Directions:

    1. First things first – the beard of the gnome. Go ahead and take your paper plate & cut it in half.
    2. Keep one half for the craft today and save the other for another day
    3. Along the curved edge of the paper plate half cut small notches, that are really close together, until you get to the other side of the paper plate {make sure to not go all the way through the paper plate and accidently cut your plate in half} If your child needs help on this step and doesn’t know where to cut, you can draw some lines with a marker and have children cut each line.
    4. When you are done cutting the paper plate and making his beard, curl a couple of the strips up and down to give it some texture and some flair. Set aside.
    5. Now grab your choice of color in scrapbook paper.
    6. Cut out a LARGE triangle from the scrapbook paper. This will be the Christmas gnome’s hat.
    7. Next, out of the tan cardstock, cut out a large oval shape for his nose.
    8. To finish off the Paper Plate Gnome craft, staple the triangle hat to the paper plate beard.
    9. Follow that up by gluing the nose in place.
    10. Add a few snowflake stickers or paper embellishments to the hat, to tie the winter theme together.
    11. Then let it all dry completely before displaying proudly.

    Ingredients:

    • 8 hot dogs
    • 1 package of refrigerated crescent rolls
    • 1 teaspoon of yellow mustard, ketchup, or other condiment

    Directions:

    1. Preheat your oven to 250 degrees. Place your hot dogs in a saucepan and cover them with water. Once the water has begun to boil, reduce the heat to medium-low and simmer for five minutes or until they are warmed through. Once you have drained the water and the hot dogs are ready, roll your crescent dough onto the work surface and tear it into eight pieces. Roll one piece of dough around each hot dog to create the mummy look. Add the eyes with your preferred condiments as “glue.” Bake in your preheated oven for about ten minutes or until the crescent dough is golden brown and flaky.
